Why Automation?

Why Automation? Why is it Important?
RoPaTech, LLC founder Volker Kemmann has been working with 6-axis and 4-axis robots since they came out in the 80s, so we are very well experienced in the field.
A question often asked—does automation steal jobs from people? In Volker’s years at his prior employer, before starting RoPaTech, he shares, “From the time we started implementing these automation solutions, the company [I worked for] grew from 2000 employees to 7000.”
The benefit of implementing automation is that it gives you a competitive edge in an environment where the “next generation” is always sought after. It also keeps things from being sourced to low wage countries where ethical working environments aren’t promoted.
Where automation is discussed, the safety of the human operator is always kept in mind. Volker remembers when they incorporated automation in a die-casting process. He said that it, “protected the human operator from a brutal work environment.” Robots can be utilized in places normally toxic or physically dangerous to humans.
